Plaza de Castilla - torres Kio
The Torres Kio (Puerta de Europa) refers to two twin office buildings designed by American architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee. The structures were commissioned by the Kuwait Investment Office (KIO) in 1996. Each building rises 115 meters high with an inclination of 15 degrees to create a shocking ground-view. In all, the towers each have 27 levels and are made of glass, metal, and grantie. The twin towers are situated in the Plaza de Castilla (Plaza Castilla), near the Cuartro Torres skyscraper park. Following the Torres KIO fraud case, the organization was forced to sell the buildings. Today they are owned by Realia and Cajamadrid. While the Torres Kio is an impressive sight, they are not open to the public.
